The biggest website traffic source after Google 🚀 + a new trend + 3 resources

Hey streight,

This past week, I got few questions about website traffic sources, and how do I prioritize them on WPBeginner.

If you remember a few weeks ago, I shared two guides that I was using to grow my website traffic last month.

Well, it should be no surprise that Google is the #1 source of traffic for most websites (including my own).

But the breakdown after Google is very interesting.

1. Direct + Email Newsletter is my second biggest traffic source. This is why I highly recommend everyone to start an email newsletter.

2. Facebook - between our brand page and fast growing WPBeginner engage group, we are seeing our Facebook traffic rise consistently.

3. Push Notification - too often people don't even consider how reliable push notifications can be for consistent traffic. Here's how to add push notifications to your WordPress site.

If you're serious about growing your website traffic, then follow these two guides - Guide 1 and Guide 2.

One of my goals during these crazy times is to help you create something amazing that you'll be proud of in the next 6 months and beyond.

I'm so happy to see how many people are taking action, so I want to share a new trend that I'm seeing.

A rising trend that you don't want to miss out on

Online content consumption is on a huge rise, and every smart blogger / creator is ramping up content production.

With Amazon reducing affiliate commissions, and advertising earnings going down, many bloggers / entrepreneurs are seeing a lot of success with creating membership sites and selling online courses.

You can follow my tutorial here on how to create a membership site.

E-learning software companies are seeing record numbers of people setting up virtual classrooms, courses, and membership sites.

You can teach almost anything online ... yoga class, cooking, arts & craft, etc.

This is a great opportunity to start your online business idea.

3 new resources from WPBeginner

This week on the blog we wrote about:

- How to setup email newsletter tracking in Google Analytics, so you can accurately measure your results.

- How to duplicate a post or page with a single click in WordPress to streamline your workflow.

- How to add an affiliate program in WordPress / WooCommerce.

That's all for today.

Have a happy weekend. Stay safe, healthy, and in good spirits :)

P.S. Thousands of smart people are starting new online ventures right now because there are a lot of huge savings opportunities.

SiteGround, the hosting company that I use for WPBeginner, is offering Startup hosting for $0.99 for 3 months to help more entrepreneurs / creators get started during COVID-19 challenging times.

Bluehost, another popular WordPress hosting company that I use for my smaller sites, is offering website hosting for $2.75 per month, and it includes a free domain + SSL.

Remember, you choose the future with your actions each day :)
